‘Tis the season for giving- but is it really? We live in a culture where strategic marketing companies have turned this festive time into a race for the best sales. And let's be honest, many of us have enough stuff. We just love the thrill of getting a great deal!

So if we were to remove the consumerism and religious components of the holiday season, what are we left with? Relationships.

We are left with amazing people, lost people, joyful people and the list goes on. I encourage you to invest in something much greater this year- invest in your clients, your family and your friends!

Let's do this by hand writing a thoughtful card for each client.

Taking time to share with your clients how they have touched your life; this will go further and deeper than you could ever imagine (and mean so much more than a free mini bottle of cuticle oil). You never know someone last received a compliment or a word of encouragement.

To get started:

-Find cute holiday cards or stationary with designs that spark joy! Remember this note will have greater meaning than just stuff and your client will probably hang it in their home!

-Buy a new pen that gives you excitement to write! I am a sucker for velvet sharp point colored pens!

-Turn up the holiday tunes to get in the spirit!

-Make a list of all your clients. Pull up your calendar and write each client’s upcoming appointment date next to their name.

-Time to write! Make sure you’re working on cards with upcoming appointments first. Getting a Christmas card in January is odd, but you could address it as a Happy New Years message!

-Start writing when you’re in a good head space. The more you do the easier it will become! A few sentences of gratitude and recognition can be life changing for the recipient.

Let us remember what these holidays are all about. It is about time spent with family, friends and people. Our time is the most precious gift that we can give this holiday season. I encourage you to use that gift to further your relationships!
