Pedicure Mandrel for Sanding Caps — Rubber Podiatry Mandrel

A pedicure mandrel is the reusable core that sits between your e-file (or podiatry rotary machine) and the disposable sanding cap actually doing the work on your client's skin. Ours is built with a solid rubber head that grips, and gives slightly, under rotation, so the cap stays locked in place through a full service. No wobble, no slipping, no stopping mid-pedicure to reseat it. Size is 10x15mm.

How it works

  • The shaft: a standard 3/32" stainless steel stem that fits directly into most professional e-files and podiatry drills.
  • The body: solid rubber, not rigid metal. That slight give is what separates a rubber mandrel from a hard one — it holds the sanding cap snugly as you angle around the heel and the ball of the foot, instead of letting it spin loose.
  • The cap: single-use and disposable, on and off in seconds. Sanding caps can't be disinfected the way the mandrel can, so use a fresh cap for every client.

What it's for

Erica's approach to dry pedicure work is controlled reduction, not full removal — the goal is comfortable, healthy skin, not stripping every bit of texture off the foot. This podiatry mandrel and its sanding caps are built for exactly that kind of controlled work:

  • Callus reduction on the heels and balls of the feet — a medium cap smooths thickened skin without overworking it.
  • Skin refining with the step-down fine grit that softens and smooths once the heavier work is done. Or for clients who need just a light touch.
  • Toenail prep, shaping or thinning very thick nails when the right grit calls for it.
